THE WEST NILE VIRUS IS KILLING PEOPLE IN TEXAS

For some reason I didn’t know that the West Nile Virus actually killed Americans, I thought it was just the news making people scared.  I was wrong.

This year, Texas has a warm winter and wet spring.  These conditions are ideal for mosquitoes.  This increase in the mosquito population led to a dramatic increase in the prevalence of the virus.

So far this year, 16 Texans have died and 382 have been infected.  That's pretty scary.
